Thomas is an associate at Gilbert’s LLP, and previously summered and articled with the firm. In 2017, Thomas graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School where he pursued his interests in all areas of intellectual property law and was a clinic fellow at IP Osgoode’s Innovation Clinic, a needs-based innovation-to-market legal clinic.

Before Osgoode, Thomas graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science (Honours), majoring in biology. At Queen’s he completed an undergraduate thesis analyzing protein localization in fission yeast. Instead of continuing in science and perhaps one day perfecting his pipetting technique, Thomas decided to transition to law. Since finishing his studies in biology, and while attending Osgoode, Thomas also worked for two summers with hydraulics—the industrial (rather than lowrider) variety.

Outside the office Thomas enjoys playing hockey, backcountry camping, and cycling (along with the tinkering and tuning that comes with it).
