AI Disclaimer

Here at Gilbert’s, we are always looking for ways to make our practice more efficient. That includes using the latest tech, including what are referred to as Generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) / LLM (Large Language Model) tools.

We do not have a formal “AI Policy”, because as we have learned, the capabilities of these tools move much faster than anyone can reasonably foresee within a single governing document. However, we strive to follow best practices when using any such AI tools in light of ongoing public discourse.

In general, our guiding principle is transparency, meaning we will inform you if and when we believe AI may be appropriate. If we use AI in any work product, we will ask for permission and tell you how it was used. Any time we use AI, we will ensure there is a human-in-the-loop to review for accuracy and completeness.

For example, portions of this website (including the descriptions of our services and our firm) were edited with generative AI tools after being provided human input on the substantive content. The AI output was then further refined by a human to ensure accuracy before publication.

Additionally, in the course of our legal research work, we may utilize AI tools when they are provided by reputable suppliers as part of commercially available research platforms. Where this involves client matters, we will discuss such matters with clients individually on a case-by-case basis. If you have any concerns with the use of such tools, please bring it up with one of our lawyers.
