Biography

Travis Allan helps companies raise capital, efficiently solve cross-border corporate legal challenges and navigate complex, multi-jurisdictional regulatory and public affairs issues. In addition to his work as a lawyer, Travis assists companies in developing capital raising strategies at Gilbert’s Global.

Travis has over 15 years’ experience in law, public affairs and as a C-suite executive. He has worked in New York at a global corporate law firm, co-founded Canada’s first climate change law firm and built high-performing teams at a leading North American transportation technology company. There he led legal, corporate secretarial, regulatory, public affairs, communications, social media, ESG and cybersecurity functions.

On the capital-raising front, Travis played a key role structuring and executing over $524M+ in cross-border capital raising in equity, project finance, secured credit and structured finance. He has led precedent-setting carbon credit transactions and innovative project finance projects covering a range of new technologies including renewable energy and electric vehicle charging.

On regulatory and public affairs, Travis has built and led successful strategic US and Canadian regulatory campaigns related to market access and market development leading to over $100M+ benefits for his clients and employers. He has developed campaigns that have changed the law in California, Canada and fundamentally improved the way billions of dollars of funding are provided for EV charging grants in the United States. He has particular expertise in unlocking value in complex, highly technical, multi-jurisdictional regulatory arenas, and has extensive experience building regulatory monitoring and influence campaigns for companies looking to execute their go-to-market strategies in multiple national or subnational jurisdictions.

On the contracting side, Travis has helped organizations dramatically improve their contracting and operational efficiency by developing English and French, Canada and US template agreements and playbooks for business to business (B2B), business to consumer (B2C), business to network (B2N), software as a service (SaaS), procurement, human resources and other sales and business functions.
