Prior to law school, Swapna graduated with distinction from the University of British Columbia, earning a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Sciences (Microbiology, Immunology, and Cellular Physiology).
Driven by her passion for innovation and intellectual property, Swapna has worked with the University of Toronto’s Entrepreneurship Hatchery, advising start-ups on IP and business strategy. During her second year of law school, she worked as a teaching assistant in the University of Toronto Faculty of Engineering where she taught “Entrepreneurship for Engineers''. She also volunteered as a caseworker for Downtown Legal Services in the criminal and academic offenses division.
In her free time Swapna is an avid baker, blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, hiker, and weightlifter.
